SAVING LPG COSTS

Q
Just a couple of questions - are there any differences between 9kg LPG bottles?

They seem to differ quite a bit in price from different places! And is it better to buy

your own bottle or continually pay the $29.95 for a full replacement bottle each time

you need it?

A Gavin, a friend of mine who can be frighteningly anal at times, actually weighed his

9 kg gas bottle before and after several refills during the course of a year and found up

to 15% variance.

He swears that is the case and I don't doubt him but I thought once the excess gas came

out they were full - end of story. He reckons the best results were achieved when the bottle to be
filled was left for the day at the servo. And that might support his theory about incomplete

filling.

It is probably better to buy your own. I've got a circa 1981 LPG bottle
which is now into its third decade. Keep them under cover and they should
sail through the 10 year inspections.

I pay less than $20 for a refill so I guess it makes sense to look after your
cylinder.
